One day, on the day before Christmas, I was reading my favorite book, The Land of Stories. I was also looking at my favorite snow globe—the one my best friend gave me. But a moment later, the snow globe was gone, and I heard someone snoring. I realized I wasn’t in my room anymore. When I got up from the bed, I saw a dwarf from the Snow White story!
I quickly ran down the stairs, fear in my eyes. I knew this wasn’t my house, so I tried to go outside. But one of the dwarfs—who I think was Grumpy—stood in front of me. Luckily, he was just sleepwalking.
Outside, I heard a sound coming from my backpack. I opened it and was so happy—it was my bunny, Jassi! She must have climbed into my backpack before I got pulled into the mini world of The Land of Stories, which I think was inside the snow globe.
I needed to find someone. I didn’t know how I got here, but suddenly I saw someone I recognized—it was Cinderella! Then, some fairies flew above us and sprinkled fairy dust on us. Suddenly, I had wings and turned into a fairy! Jassi came running to me and, to my surprise, she could talk.
“I know how to get out of this world,” she said. “But we must follow Alex and Conner—the two twins from The Land of Stories who got trapped inside a book. They’re collecting magical items to cast a spell that will open a portal back home. We need to find them and go with them.”
Then I saw a big bird, and I instantly knew who it was—Lester! He’s a magical bird that hatched from a magical egg. I whistled, and he came flying toward me, curious.
“Please, Lester, can you take me to Alex and Conner? I really need their help,” I begged. Lester nodded. “Sure, I’ll do it as quickly as possible,” he said.
We flew high in the sky, fast as lightning. When we reached them, they didn’t notice me at first, so I tapped one of them on the shoulder.
“Hi,” I said. “I really need your help. I’m stuck in this world, just like you.”
“Umm… we don’t know you,” Conner said. “How do we know you’re really trapped here? You could be from this world, trying to enter ours. You’re a fairy, after all.”
“Wait,” I said. “Since Alex is a fairy, she can use a truth-and-lie detector.”
“Okay then,” she replied. She used the detector and saw my whole story—everything that happened since I got pulled into the snow globe. She gasped.
“We should definitely help her,” she told Conner.
After that, we gathered the final items needed to complete the spell. We traveled across the fairy tale world, collecting each magical piece. Finally, we activated the portal. Alex and Conner were sent back home—and so was I.
When I got back to my house, I realized something important: magic is everywhere, even if you don’t believe in it.
I called my best friend and told her what happened. She said she never meant to hurt me. She gave me the snow globe just for memories and didn’t think anything like this could happen. She explained that only someone who is magical, has a connection to magic, or truly believes in it can unlock its power.
From then on, I kept the snow globe wrapped in a blanket. I didn’t open it again—at least not until I needed a place to hide something special. I realized it could hold more than objects; it could hold memories I never wanted to lose… just like this one.
