Imagine this, you are locked in a cage with no space and no family. Every single day, the animals in the zoo go through this; they miss their family, their habitat. Circuses like Ringling Bros and Barnum & Bailey Circus have been reported for animal abuse. These circuses have mistreated their animals. The animals are trapped in small cages and don’t get their daily needs, and when they are being trained for the circus, they are beaten and treated in much worse ways. Investigations and undercover reports by organizations like PETA(People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals) and The Humane Society have revealed cases of animal abuse in circuses worldwide. Not just circuses, but even zoos. Zoos trap animals in cages just for human beings ‘entertainment, which is absolutely not right. Some people agree with me, like Katherine Applegate from The One and Only Bob and related series, she said, “I think that we are all more alike than we are different. And that we should all be free.” Also, the Harry Potter series by J.K Rowling may not have said animals specifically, but he speaks about being free. He says, “The difference between being dragged into the arena and being dragged into the arena with a choice is about freedom.” Animals deserve freedom, they deserve certain rights. Just imagine that a greater force comes to earth and keeps us in cages. Take a stand for animal freedom by donating to animal centers, informing your friends and family, and you can do many other things.
